Film or TV, it's all the same, right? Interchangeable, even.
Nope.
In Dramatic Screenwriting for TV 101 we'll examine the purpose of a Television screenplay, break down the process of creating your own and examine some of the pitfalls I've made along the way.

We're just starting session three now, so there's still time to catch up.
Thanks!
1 - Most Important: You MUST be comfortable submitting your work onto an online forum. DO NOT submit any work you're worried about 'being stolen'. Start from scratch and take what you learn and apply it to whatever work you're working on. This will be a public forum, don't share what you're afraid to lose. [Not saying it will happen, but it's the internet and anything's possible]
2 - Write like you give a damn.
3 - Be Fair: Critiques must always be about the WORK SUBMITTED, not the author.
A specific syllabus will be decided in class as each brings forward their own needs.
We will definitely be covering:
The types of Dramatic screenplay
The Anatomy of a TV screenplay
The Beat Sheet
The Outline Process
The First Draft
Pitfalls to Avoid when Writing Your First Script
With more to come as requested.
This is my first attempt at teaching a class, so please be gentle with me - we'll work out the rough edges together.
As an emerging TV screenwriter who's yet to break out up here in Canada I've learned a few things over the last four or five years and I'm willing to share.
I've got 3 Spec 1-hours, 3 1-hour original Spec Pilots and a 2-hour backdoor pilot that are complete and pretty well received.
I am, by no means, an expert yet but I think I've got a pretty good footing -- If you're interested in seeing the quality of my work, you can check out the following below:
