A practical course designed to teach everyday people about their legal rights, the nature of the court system in a common law society, their legal responsibilities and the method through which court-based litigation is resolved. I've noticed that most lay people are confused by the law and this makes seeking justice less possible. I hope this class remedies that.

A satisfactory grasp of the English language and very basic short essay skills. It would also be more useful if you lived in a country like the US, UK, Canada, Australia or any nation whose legal system is common, not civil.
All class materials, upon the beginning of the class, will be hosting off-site by me. *Court systems *An overview of common law *Legal procedure *Legal Liability and rights *Basics of contract law *Understanding legal writing
Lectures will be put online on a Sunday in the late afternoon. Assignments or questions regarding the previous week's lecture are due in before that lecture is put up. The assignments will be sent to me privately (or publicly, if you wish) for marking which I will return ASAP.
I'm happy to answer any questions.
I am completing a Bachelor of Laws degree.
